The Liberty is constantly being developed to offer each pilot his optimal model. You can combine all versions with each other.

Strengths:

With the FAI Light version you can reach a flying weight from 1150g depending on the equipment. It is flown up to approx. 3 m/s wind. The model is ideal for light and tight thermals, even in classic floater conditions it plays to its strengths. Ballasting should only be used very carefully.
The medium version is the most universal version and you can reach a flying weight from approx. 1350g depending on the equipment. With this model you have the widest flying range and use it up to approx. 6m/s wind. Thermally, the Liberty Medium can handle everything from light to ripped and strong thermals with flying colors.
If the wind is strong up to 12m/s, the Liberty Hard with approx. 1650g is the optimal solution. Both against the wind, as well as in strongly shifting thermals, the Liberty Hard is an ace! But even in weak conditions you can use the thermals excellent.
In additon the Liberty is produced as F3J Version. Basically it is the same built as the Hard version but with an strengthend spar to cope with the force caused by the winch start. Also the fuselage is glued into one piece.

For some time, Alexander Chekh had been thinking about building a new, innovative F5J model. Both new solutions and proven production concepts were to be applied. The result of this development is now the newly presented Liberty. While the mechanical engineering work was done entirely by Alex Chekh, the aerodynamic design was a collaboration of some very well known designers. For example, the first design came from Turkey and was the result of a collaboration between Eser Kismir and Philip Kolb. Alex has taken this design and modernized it to meet today's requirements.

Alex Chekh relies on the shell construction method. He combines this with high-quality materials to create a real cream puff. Light, robust and powerful. At the same time, he has given the fuselage an innovative connector. This allows the fuselage to be divided very compactly and, if necessary, individual parts to be changed more easily. This would also allow the conversion to a V-LW, should Alex want to offer this in the future.

The result is a model that flies excellently, solves the F5J tasks with flying colors and, despite its extremely lightweight construction, is robust and manufactured in excellent quality at an unrivaled price in the Ukraine.

Wing Details

The Liberty is built with a shell wing with 90mm deep flaps as the central panel. Servos are mounted through ready cut out hatches closed with a clear cover hatch. The electrical connection is done via a multi-pin connector.

The gap masking is ready installed and the IDS provided enables backlash-free internal rudder linkage.

The Wing Tips are also made in shell construction and prepared for aileron installation.

Fuselage Details

The concept of dividing the fuselage gives the Liberty a very favorable packing size.

On the one hand the fuselage pod has a ready mounted canopy, on the other hand it is surprisingly roomy and was designed for the aerodynamically optimized VM-Pro spinners and props.

Within the canopy there is enough space to fit a F5J logger.

The fuselage is connected by means of a precise, accurately fitting and stable aluminum connector.

The two Carbon pushrods precisely engage the servo port of the fuselage pod. For transport, a plastic swivel part is included to protect the Carbon push rods.

The push rods are locked with a small Allen screw. The special design allows the tail boom to be mounted at an angle and always evenly.

Both, fin and elevator are mounted with screws onto the fuselage. All linkage and mounting is flight ready out of the box.

The V-Tail is mounted to the fuselage through two Carbon Tubes. All linkage and mounting is flight ready out of the box.

While the fin is mounted through a carbon pushrod onto the fuselage, the elevator is screwed. All linkage and mounting is flight ready out of the box.

The Liberty already has the fuselage nose cut off and adapted to a 30mm spinner upon delivery. The ALU motor mount, available as an accessory, is available for various drilling templates (currently Powerline, XPower and Reisenauer).

Now glue the frame in place using a little 2-component resin. It is essential to work with a small amount of resin so that excess resin does not stick to the rear of the gearbox. Ideally, you should wet the inside of the fuselage a little and apply the main amount of resin to the motor mount. That way, when you push it in, it pushes the excess resin out the front and not into the back of the fuselage. The excess resin is taken up directly with a rag and the fuselage is then placed on the nose to dry for about 24 hours. In this way, the resin in the fuselage also runs forward to the gluing point.

Once the resin is dry, you should get an exact fit for a 30mm spinner.

If necessary, when adjusting the engine camber, make sure that the engine is not too far up in the fuselage, otherwise the canopy lock may no longer fit.

The fuselage servos are KST X08H or KST A08H. Here you can see that the fuselage servos are ideally mounted under the wing. This helps the center of gravity and creates space for the battery and ballast:

The linkage must be shortened according to this picture.

To install the wing servos, it is advisable to remove the control horns of the IDS system and press them onto the servo output outside the wing. It is important to set the servos to neutral beforehand and then place the IDS lever as perpendicular as possible to the servo position.

To remove the rudder horn, pull the axle wire out of the rudder horn with a small pair of pliers. Then you can lift the rudder linkage and pull the rudder horn out of its bearing.

Once the rudder horn has been removed, it can usually be pressed on cleanly with a little pressure, e.g. against the edge of a table. Please be sure to press it in as far as it will go to ensure that everything fits properly afterwards.

CAUTION: If the control horn does not slide onto the servos with moderate pressure, do not use force. It is better to check the fit of the teeth again. Sometimes there is some plastic in one or the other tooth, or you have already pressed on the rudder horn with too much pressure a tooth between the actual teeth!

The installation is then done in reverse. If the servo is in place and in neutral position vertically, the neutral positions of the ailerons already fit very well. The flaps should now be about 25°-30° down. This can be corrected later during programming with the flap settings (NOT via the zero setting!). This ensures that the flaps can also deflect vertically downwards.

Center of Gravity (CG): 95mm - 110mm

An exactly matching set of protective bags is available for the Liberty. The protective bags are cut in such a way that the Liberty can be covered and protected from the sun and moisture even when mounted.

The brass ballast allows the Liberty to be ballasted in the hull by up to 600g.

An IDS from Servorahmen.de can be ordered in the wing. The IDS allows a backlash-free and powerful linkage. Due to the factory installation, all that remains is to screw in the servo in the correct neutral position and to mount the servo cover.

The IDS is available for KST X10Mini/KST X08H üder ChaServo HV85H.
